Remember Hostess Ho Ho’s or the Little Debbie Swiss Cake version? Now picture one of those finger-length iced jellyrolls on steroids. That’s essentially what Cooking by Moonlight accomplished with this offering of a family sized version of the small lunch box treat. The chocolate sponge cake recipe does take a certain technique and some extra effort to keep it from splitting while being rolled, enclosing the vanilla cream filling. The chocolate ganache glaze completes the package and the flavor will take you back to grade school lunch period. This time, though, you only get a slice of the whole.
